About Oasis Bath Solutions

Bathroom Remodeling in Federal Way, WA

Most homes in Federal Way were built in the 1970s through the 1990s, with the median construction year landing in 1984. That means a large share of Federal Way bathrooms still have their original single-piece tub and shower units, often in dated colors like almond, mauve, or salmon, with fiberglass surrounds that have discolored or cracked over the decades. Federal Way also has a larger apartment and condo presence than many nearby cities, along with a meaningful number of mobile and manufactured homes, so bathroom projects here range from full single-family renovations to smaller-footprint condo updates.

Oasis Bath Solutions installs grout-free wall systems in place of tile or aging fiberglass, so Federal Way homeowners get a bathroom renovation that holds up to daily use. The most common projects we complete in Federal Way include replacing original builder-grade tub and shower units, walk-in shower conversions with safety features like grab bars, and full bathtub replacements, all using materials built to outlast what came from the factory.

Our office is about 30 minutes north of Federal Way on I-5, and our crews regularly work throughout the city and surrounding South King County communities. Every project starts with a free in-home consultation where we measure the space, walk through material options, and give you a firm, written price before any work begins. We'll communicate with you every step of the way.

Federal Way Bathroom Remodeling

How We Approach Bathroom Renovations in Federal Way, WA

Premier Full Bathroom remodeling services in Federal Way WA Oasis Bath Solutions
Premier Full Bathroom remodeling services in Federal Way WA Oasis Bath Solutions

Federal Way's housing stock is heavily concentrated in the 1970s through 1990s, with the median home built in 1984. Roughly half of Federal Way homes are single-family, but the city also has a substantial share of apartments, condos, and mobile or manufactured homes, more than many surrounding cities. Across all of these home types, the most common project we see is a homeowner ready to replace an original, builder-grade tub and shower unit that has never been touched since the house was built.

A typical Federal Way bathroom renovation starts with a walkthrough of the existing space. We measure the room, photograph the current layout, and talk through what you want the finished bathroom to look like. From there, you receive a firm, itemized quote before any demolition begins. Most tub-to-shower conversions and bathtub replacements finish in one to two days. Full bathroom remodels typically run three to seven days depending on scope.

Oasis Bath Solutions is based in Bellevue, about 30 minutes north of Federal Way on I-5. Our crews regularly work throughout Federal Way and the surrounding South King County communities. Every installation uses grout-free Tyvarian, Sentrel, or acrylic composite panels instead of tile or aging fiberglass, sealed as continuous sheets so there are no grout lines to crack, stain, or collect mold.

Whether you think of your project as a bathroom remodel or a bathroom renovation, the process looks the same on our end: a free walkthrough, a firm written quote, a dedicated crew, and a lifetime warranty on both materials and labor. We are also a member of the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce.

Tub and Shower Replacement in Federal Way

Replacing Your Original Tub and Shower in Federal Way

Federal Way Tub/Shower Combo Replacement

Most Federal Way homes were built in the 1980s, and for a lot of homeowners, the bathroom hasn't changed since. The original single-piece tub and shower unit is still there, often in a color that hasn't been made in decades, with a fiberglass surface that has dulled, cracked, or started to feel unsafe to stand in.

For one Federal Way homeowner, that meant replacing an aging tub and shower with a fully accessible walk-in shower, complete with a built-in seat, a wall-backed grab bar, and a corner shelf, all installed with a new sealed wall system in place of the original fiberglass. Another homeowner swapped out a single-piece combo unit in a dated 1990s color for a new acrylic tub, a full glass sliding door, and a stainless steel niche. A third replaced a discolored fiberglass shower entirely with a custom-sized shower base and a full panel system built to fit the exact space.

Most tub and shower replacement projects we complete in Federal Way include some combination of the following upgrades:

  • Removal of the original single-piece tub or shower unit

  • New grout-free wall panels in place of fiberglass or tile

  • Updated fixtures and a modern shower system

  • A glass door or sliding enclosure

  • Built-in storage like a niche or corner shelf

  • Safety features like grab bars and a built-in seat, where wanted

Still have the tub and shower your house was built with?

Full Bathroom Remodel

If your whole bathroom feels outdated or cramped, a complete bathroom remodel gives you the most flexibility. We help Federal Way homeowners rethink the full layout, finishes, shower or tub area, storage, and lighting so the space works better every day. If shower access is the main issue, whether the step-over is too high, the tub is hard to get in and out of, or you want safer daily use for the years ahead, a walk-in accessible shower remodel with a curbless entry, grab-bar backing, and a fold-down bench is usually the right fit for Federal Way homes. If you want to make better use of your bathroom's square footage, a custom shower remodel with a smarter layout, recessed niches, and the right glass enclosure can open up even a compact Federal Way bathroom. If you have a tub you never use and want a more functional shower in its place, a tub-to-shower conversion is one of the most popular upgrades we do for Federal Way homeowners, typically completed in 3 to 5 days with minimal disruption. If your bathtub is cracked, stained, or outdated but you want to keep a soaking tub, a bathtub replacement with a modern Pulse, Kohler, or composite system is a clean upgrade we handle across Federal Way. Not sure where to start? Schedule a free in-home consultation. We will look at your bathroom, talk through your goals, and help you figure out which option makes the most sense for your home and budget.

Our process

Our simple remodel process

We guide you through a clear 3-step design-build bathroom remodeling process, whether you are planning a full bathroom remodel, a walk-in shower upgrade, a tub-to-shower conversion, or a focused wet-area renovation.

Step 1: Consultation, Design & Material Selection

Because we're a local, family-owned and operated remodeler, every project starts with a conversation, not a sales pitch. We sit down with you, look at your current bathroom, and listen to what isn't working about it. From there we talk through whether you need a full remodel, a shower-focused update, a tub-to-shower conversion, new flooring, a new vanity, or more storage.

We'll also walk you through material options together: shower walls, bases, glass, fixtures, vanities, countertops, flooring, and accessibility/safety features. Our team takes careful measurements and puts together drawings and scope notes, so everyone on the project, including you, knows exactly what to expect before any work begins - the kind of communication and project guidance that keeps small decisions from turning into surprises later.

We keep the consultation simple and low-pressure. You'll get clear recommendations and honest guidance, not upsells, built around your home, your budget, and how you actually want to live in the space.

Step 2: Installation & Build-Out

Once everything is planned out, our own factory-certified installers, not a rotating crew of subcontractors, get to work. Before anything starts, we protect the surrounding areas of your home and walk you through what's about to happen - the kind of white glove service that starts before the first tool comes out.

Depending on your project, this can include demolition, plumbing work, shower base and wall installation, vanity replacement, flooring, drywall, storage, fixtures, and final accessories. On a full remodel, we make sure the shower, vanity, flooring, and layout all come together as one finished room instead of a set of separate updates.

Whatever the scope, from a single shower conversion to a full teardown, we treat your home the way we'd want ours treated: cleanly, carefully, and with real attention to the small details that make a bathroom pleasant to use every day.

Step 3: Final Inspection & Walkthrough

When the work is done, we clean up completely and walk through the finished bathroom with you, not past it. We check the shower, fixtures, vanity, flooring, and every small detail together, and we don't consider the job finished until you do.

This is also when we answer any care and maintenance questions, go over your transferrable lifetime warranty, and make sure you feel confident using your new bathroom every day, not just impressed by it on the walkthrough.

Oasis Bath Solutions was truly great to work with. Great communication with the owner, Caleb, and Senior Designer/Estimator Andrew. They ensured we stayed up to date on the project timeline and fit us in earlier than planned when an unexpected opening appeared on the calendar! Installers Jimmy and Jonny are true masters of their craft. They took the time to make sure every step of the remodel was completed precisely and professionally. Their attention to detail, cleanliness and timely updates were very much welcomed. They kept us involved as the project progressed and expertly guided us through the decision making process, when applicable. We highly recommend working with Oasis for all of your bath renovation needs. Their prices, professionalism and execution are unmatched!

Federal Way Bathroom Remodeling FAQs

Common questions about tub and shower replacement, accessible remodeling, and bathroom renovations in Federal Way.

Common questions about tub and shower replacement, accessible remodeling, and bathroom renovations in Federal Way.

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Federal Way, WA?

Most Federal Way bathroom remodels start at $9,500 for a tub-to-shower conversion or bathtub replacement. Recent Federal Way projects have ranged from about $9,900 to $12,500 depending on scope, whether that's a shower retrofit, a full tub and shower combo replacement, or an accessible walk-in shower conversion. We provide a firm, itemized quote after a free in-home consultation.

How long does a bathroom remodel take in Federal Way?

Most tub-to-shower conversions, bathtub replacements, and shower retrofits finish in one to two days. A full bathroom remodel typically takes three to seven days depending on scope.

What are Tyvarian and Sentrel wall systems?

Tyvarian and Sentrel are grout-free wall panels that install as large, sealed sheets instead of individual tiles or aging fiberglass. They resist mold, staining, and moisture damage without any grout lines to crack or scrub, and they hold up well against the wear an original 1980s surround has often seen.

Does Oasis Bath Solutions serve Federal Way, WA?

Yes. We regularly complete bathroom renovations in Federal Way, including Twin Lakes, Lakeland, Redondo, and Dash Point. We are also a member of the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce.

My Federal Way home still has its original tub and shower. What should I expect?

Most Federal Way homes were built in the 1980s, and many still have their original single-piece tub and shower unit. These often show cracked or discolored fiberglass, and sometimes hidden wear behind the surround that isn't visible until demolition begins. We inspect everything during the free in-home consultation and account for any repairs in the quote.

Can you install grab bars and other accessibility features?

Yes. Our owner is a NAHB Certified Aging in Place Specialist, and we regularly install grab bars, built-in seats, and curbless shower entries as part of a walk-in shower conversion.
